Do I need a doctor’s referral for physiotherapy?
Physiotherapists are primary healthcare providers who can diagnose your condition. However, some insurance companies may require a physician’s referral for expense reimbursement. Check your extended health benefits for details.
Do you do direct billing to insurance companies?
No, I do not directly bill your insurance company. Instead, after your appointment, you will receive a receipt containing all the relevant details required to claim reimbursement from your insurance company.
My doctor referred me to another clinic. Can I come to Physio With Lisa instead?
Yes, you can. Patients have the right to choose where and which physiotherapist they would like to see.
In addition to appropriate treatment, it is important to establish a good rapport and feel comfortable with your physiotherapist for a successful recovery.
PELVIC HEALTH PHYSIOTHERAPY
Is pelvic health physiotherapy covered by insurance?
If your insurance covers physiotherapy, you are covered pelvic health physiotherapy. Contact your insurance company to determine if a physician referral is needed for reimbursement and to learn about your benefits.
I have my period. Can I still come to my appointment?
Yes, you can still come to your pelvic physiotherapy appointment.
If you are not comfortable having an internal assessment or treatment done during this time, there are other tests and forms of treatment that we can do instead at your session.
Will I have to put my feet in stirrups like at the Doctor's?
No. We use a soft physiotherapy table and have sheets over the table in a calm, quiet and private environment.
